Vettel set to leave Ferrari at the end of 2020
Sebastian Vettel is set to leave Ferrari at the end of the delayed 2020 season. According to Tobias Gruner the contract negotiations between the two parties that were ongoing over this delayed start have now concluded with the German agreeing to leave Ferrari.
According to Gruner Vettel was looking for a long term deal from the Maranello based team, while it is speculated that Mattia Binotto was negotiating a lower salary. This comes off the back of arguably the worst season for Vettel with the Italian team scoring the solitary win in Singapore while making a series of high profile errors, most notably at Ferrari's home race at Monza.
Rumours have persisted regarding the German's future and thanks to the rapid emergence of team mate Charles Leclerc it seems time is up for the Vettel/Ferrari partnership. What was once a promising match made in heaven in 2015 has sadly produced no championships and no emulation of the great Michael Schumacher.
While no confirmation has come from Ferrari as of yet regarding Vettel's future, it looks only a matter of time before they call time on the great German's reign with Ferrari.
