Bottas Open to Ferrari Move

Valtteri Bottas has said that he would be open to a switch to Ferrari when he and Mercedes decide to part ways.

The futures of everyone at the top teams has come under scrutiny, in particular that of under pressure Sebastian Vettel. Vettel has struggled in 2019 making uncharacteristic mistakes and demonstrating the pressure that comes with driving for the Scuderia is starting to get to the German.

Should Vettel decide to call time on his illustrious career Ferrari have a wealth of option available to them, with Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas at the top of their list.

“I think I’ve shown the team that I deserve to stay at Mercedes, but we’ll have to wait a few more races,” Bottas said.

“Nothing has been signed yet but I am trying to make progress so that everything goes well.

“Of course, if it hadn’t been for Lewis maybe I would have won more races but to be honest I wouldn’t change anything because the situation helps me progress.

“If I have to leave the Mercedes, I would like to be in the team that is in second place. At the moment that team is Ferrari.”

Whether Bottas ends up of Ferrari is up for much debate and speculation, however with the future of Vettel uncertain, as well as the potential for a Max Verstappen/Mercedes move, silly season is truly here.
